The actor has told team officials he’ll suit up as Ricky ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn and throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the World Series in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday (25Oct16).
His offer comes after Indians fans started making a wish list online linked to the team hosting the first game of a World Series for the first time in its history.
An appearance by Sheen, who played Wild Thing in the sports movie, was high on the list, and he responded to the demand by posting a photo of himself as Vaughn in his Indians uniform, adding the caption: “Major League continues to be the gift that keeps on giving! if called upon, I’d be honored.”
Sheen has already made an appearance during the playoffs – he was spotted at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday (19Oct16) when the Chicago Cubs beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series.
The Indians will play either the Cubs or the Dodgers when the World Series gets underway next week.
