Simon Cowell thinks Cheryl Fernandez-Versini would be a great mother.
The 56-year-old music mogul – who has two-year-old son Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman – says the ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ hitmaker is a natural with kids.
He said: ”I guess that is what happens when you are with someone. Cheryl would be an amazing mum. I have seen her with my son Eric and other kids over the years and she is incredible. She is very good with them.
”I think she is in a good place in her life right now. I had dinner with her a couple of months ago with Liam [Payne] and they were great. I saw her the other night and she was on great form. She stays in contact on phone and text and she is good. But I do think she misses working with me.”
And the father-of-one praised Cheryl, 33, and her great sense of humour.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: ”She is very closed to a lot of people, but once you get behind that she is great fun and has a great sense of humour. I really like her and I just want her to be happy.”
Meanwhile, it was previously claimed that Cheryl and Liam are trying for a baby.
A source shared: ”It’s very serious now between Cheryl and Liam and they have been talking among close friends about starting a family. Cheryl is happier than she’s been since the good days of her marriage to Ashley Cole.
”She’s content and while they’re in the honeymoon period, this feels like a connection for the future.”
