With the 2016 edition of Latitude Festival just two short sleeps away, a final batch of performers has been added to the various performing arts stages over the three-day event.
The Film and Music Arena will see the legendary director Ken Loach, one of the most respected and admired film-makers operating in Britain today, in conversation with BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Kermode.

80 year old Loach, who recently won the prestigious Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival for the second time in his career, will be discussing his life’s work as well as his most recent film, I, Daniel Blake, with film critic Kermode on Saturday. Alongside this will be a documentary movie, entitled Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach, presented by Sheffield Doc/Fest.
Also in the Film and Music Arena, BBC Radio 1 presenter Huw Stephens will be interviewing the founders of thriving British independent label Transgressive Records, Toby L and Tim Dellow, where they will be discussing the state of the music industry at present as well as their past successes.
Joining the already star-studded comedy line-up is the comedian and writer Phil Ellis, who won the panel prize at the 2014 Edinburgh Comedy Award and is renowned for wild and unhinged stand-up performances.

For those post-punk fans among you, there’s two must-see events over the weekend going on in the Literature tent regarding the legendary Mancunian group The Fall. Firstly, Brix Smith – the first wife of the band’s irascible and ever-present leader Mark E Smith – will be discussing her new book ‘The Rise, The Fall and The Rise’ with Guardian journalist Anita Sethi on Friday.
Secondly, on Sunday, the band’s former bass guitarist Steve Hanley – one of the longest-serving members of The Fall, appearing on 19 albums between 1979 and 1998 – will also be offering the audience a glimpse into life inside the highly volatile group.
Latitude Festival 2016 takes place in Henham Park, Suffolk, from Thursday July 14th until Sunday July 17th. Day tickets and weekend camping passes are available here.
