A man has been convicted of burglary after breaking into the London home of pop star Rita Ora and stealing £200,000 worth of jewellery and designer clothes.
26 year old Charaf Elmoudden and an accomplice, who was not caught, broke into the British singer’s £1.2 million home in Kensal Rise she shares with her sister Elena and seized valuables, ranging from Louis Vuitton shoes, vintage handbags, earrings and an assortment of laptops and iPhones.
A man who burgled Rita Ora’s house was found guilty today
Elena, who is also Rita’s manager, woke up at approximately 5:50 am on November 28th last year to find Elmoudden at the end of her bed searching her room for items to steal. She screamed to alert Rita, who chased the fleeing burglar from the scene shouting “I will f*** you up”.
Elmoudden was spotted on CCTV waiting outside the house until gone midnight and then entering the three-storey property. He denied being involved, claiming it was mistaken identity, but a jury found him guilty of one count of burglary on Wednesday (June 29th).
The Moroccan-born man, who served a 15-month prison sentence in 2010 for trying to sell post-mortem pictures of the Harry Potter actor Rob Knox, escaped deportation from the UK because he has lived here since he was four years old.

Mark Kinsey, prosecuting, said of the burglary: “That address was a property known to contain a large amount of valuable items because the property belonged at the time and was occupied by recording artist and actress Rita Ora and her sister. They knew whose address it was and that address was targeted.”
“He literally turned around and looked at me dead in my eyes”, Elena Ora told the court while testifying last week. “I went ‘oh my God’, I couldn’t really scream, I became overwhelmed with fear. Once we looked at each other in the face, he turned back around and continued picking things up. He picked up the jewellery box and whatever else he could grab, turned back around and ran out of the room.”
She and Rita both broke down in tears as the former ‘X Factor’ judge’s panicked 999 call was played for the court. In it, she urged police to attend the scene as she feared the burglars might have been armed and intending to hurt them.
