Now this is what you call a power couple.
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip look as regal and charming as ever in a newly released photo shot by Annie Leibovitz. Her majesty, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday, has bright pink lipstick to match her shirt and sweater, and Prince Philip, who is celebrating his 95th birthday Friday, has a pink shirt beneath his dapper tweed coat.
This royal couple has been married for 68 years. Together they have four children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (two of which are Prince George and Princess Charlotte). They’ve also raised countless corgis through their years together, all while, you know, reigning over the U.K. and what not.
Prince William, who is second in line to the throne after his father Prince Charles, recently praised his grandmother for her accomplishments, telling the BBC, “The Queen’s duty and her service, her tolerance, her commitment to others – I think that’s all been incredibly important to me and it’s been a real guiding example of just what a good monarch could be.”
Prince Philip has been an active royal as well, though in recent years he’s (understandably) slowed down when it comes to public service. “I reckon I’ve done my bit,” he said in a 2011 interview, per CNN. “I want to enjoy myself a bit now, with less responsibility, less frantic rushing about, less preparation, less trying to think of something to say.”
