Hollywood A-lister George Clooney will be touching down in Scotland this November, to visit a cafe which helps feed the homeless. The actor will also be offering one lucky person the chance to join him for a private dinner, to help raise funds for the Scottish chartiable enterprise.

SocialBite is a chain of charitable cafes in Scotland founded by couple Josh Littlejohn and Alice Thompson. The cafes, which are located in Glasgow and Edinburgh, employ local homeless people and donate all its profits to fighting the problem at home and abroad.

Speaking to local newspaper The Scotsman, co-founder Josh Littlejohn said, “It’s a fantastic honour to be bringing one of the world’s most famous men to Scotland and it is amazing that he is supporting SocialBite.”
“He’ll be visiting a SocialBite cafe to meet our staff and customers as well as sample the food while here and who knows he may even join the team and lend a helping hand behind the counter!”

Anyone who makes a £5 donation to the cafe will be entered into a draw to win a date with the Monuments Men star, while a runner-up will also win a meet and greet with Clooney and an invitation to the Scottish business awards. The awards take place on November 12th and will see Clooney give the ceremony’s keynote speech, following in the footsteps of Richard Branson and Bill Clinton.
The actor is known for his charitable work and co-founded the charity Not On Our Watch along with fellow Hollywood A-listers Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. The charity aims to raise awareness of atrocities in Burma, Darfur and Zimbabwe.
